Its aims are: strategic information research in ecology, environment technology, resources and marine technology; disciplinary information research in earth sciences, resources and environmental science; consulting research for the regional sustainable development. The Chinese Global Change Research Information Centers for Chinese National Committees of IGBP, IHDP, WCRP and DIVERSITAS are affliated and managed within the Department. Other tasks are routine work, business development and related information research work, etc.
