Zhang Zhiqiang Published the article “New Paradigm for S&T Intelligence Studies” on “Journal of the China Society for Scientific and Technical Information”

　　With science moving into the big data era, scientific and technologic information analysis is driven into the new period of knowledge analysis and knowledge discovery services, and modern libraries and S&T information institutes are transforming themselves into the “trans-boundary” knowledge services organizations for S&T knowledge innovation and decision-making. To meet the challenges, modern libraries and S&T information institutes need to develop a new paradigm that meets the needs of the data-intensive scientific paradigm.

　　With the goal of carrying out the knowledge services for decision-making, the new paradigm should be the “five-type” coupled intelligence study paradigm, which consists of “Professional”, ”Computing”, ”Strategic”, ”Methodological” and “Policy” type intelligence studies. Based on the practices of S&T intelligence studies and services of the National Science Library of CAS, the connotations of new “5-Type” integrated study paradigm are expatiated, and the influence model of intelligence studies based on the new paradigm is proposed in the present paper.
