Dr. Zhang Zhiqiang, Director of Lanzhou Branch Library, was selected as national talent of "New Century Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talent Project".

In Feb 2010, the result was jointly selected and announced by seven ministries and commissions of the People's Republic of China including Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, Ministry of Science and Technology, Ministry of Education, etc. 

 The talent project are to train high-level middle-aged talents below 45 years old promoted by the State Council. The selection is held once every two years and about 500 talents are selected every time.
