Cooperation with Japanese Science and Technology Agency (JST)

Lanzhou Branch Library has formed partnerships with Japanese Science and Technology Agency since 1996. The main exchanges include:

(1) Information resources exchange. Lanzhou Branch Library regularly exchanges 14 Chinese journals to Japanese Science and Technology Agency such as “Advances in Earth Science”, “Journal of Earthquake”,” Chinese Environment Science”, etc.

(2) Personnel visit Exchange. The two sides have established friendly personnel visit and information exchange relationship. Former Director of JST Okimura took part in the 50th anniversary celebration of Lanzhou Branch Library in October, 2005. Professor Sun Chengquan, former director of Lanzhou Branch Library visited JST twice in 2001 and 2005 respectively.

After long-term cooperation, the two sides have established friendly and stable relationship of exchange and cooperation. The two sides signed a new contract in 2009 to further strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation through participating in academic exchanges and cosponsoring an international conference.
