Chinese National Committee for the International Geosphere-Biosphere Programme (CNC-IGBP) is an academic organization aiming at promoting and organizing Chinese scientists' participation in IGBP activities, which is directly led by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). CNC-IGBP has set up the committee and consultant committee. Committee of CNC-IGBP is composed of chairman, vice-chairman, secretary-general, assistant secretary-general, standing committee and committee members.

Dr. Zhang Zhiqiang, Director of Lanzhou Branch Library, was elected as member of the 6th Standing Committee of CNC-IGBP and the term of office is 2009/01/01-2012/12/31.
