On September 11-13, 2009, China-US Librarians Professional Seminar was held at the hall of Lanzhou University Library. As an important part of China-US librarian communicaiting program, the class was sponsored by the Ministry of Culture of P.R. China, American president art humanity committee and American Library & Museum Association, co-sponsored by Library Society of China, Library of Gansu Province, Lanzhou Branch of National Science Library of CAS, Lanzhou University Library, Library Society of Gansu Province, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Library and Chinese Librarians Association. More than 160 librarians from Gansu province participated in this class.
During the class, experts from library of congress (US), New York Public Library, Western Kentucky University Library, Asian Library of University of Illinois introduced the characteristics, law & policy, system, management, service, public relationship of US public libraries.
